About

Wild Fusion is a modern recipe blog rooted in field-to-table cooking and inspired by global flavors. It’s a space where wild game meets contemporary technique, and where tradition is respected—but never limited by it.

My relationship with wild food began early, in small but meaningful ways. Growing up my grandpa made moose and bear sausage. My dad would bring home the occasional grouse. Summers were spent at the lake, where fish became part of everyday life. My grandma(my favourite person) was an amazing baker and cook. A magnificent gardener who grew all her own produce. In fact there was nothing she couldn’t grow. These moments shaped my appreciation for food that comes directly from the land and water.

From a young age, the kitchen became my place of comfort and creativity. I baked and cooked dinners early on and eventually became the main cook in my family. Wanting to deepen that connection, I attended a culinary arts program, where I learned technique, balance, and intention. In time, I realized that while food would always be central to my life, my passion didn’t belong in a commercial kitchen. It belonged at home—shared, thoughtful, and personal.

Everything deepened when I met my husband, a proud Carrier First Nation man of the Lake Babine Nation. Building a life and family with him meant being immersed in traditions rooted in respect for the land, the harvest, and the responsibility that comes with both. Those values shape how I cook and how I approach food.

Wild Fusion reflects that journey. Here, wild game is paired with flavors and inspiration from different cultures and countries, reimagining familiar dishes through a modern lens. The goal isn’t to mask the ingredient, but to let it shine—balanced, intentional, and approachable.

This blog is for curious cooks, home chefs, and anyone interested in exploring wild ingredients in a fresh way. It’s about creating food that feels connected—to memory, culture, and the present moment.

Wild Fusion is field-to-table cooking, reinvented.
